The Dancer's Academy

Classical Ballet/ Grade 1 & 2: Students are taught ballet technique, terminology, alignment, balance, repetorire, and are given the option to perform in shows and enter into examinations. Our ballet grades provide a progression route for students wishing to enhance their training as a dancer and we enjoy preparing students for our shows bi-yearly alongside events. Classes are suitable for all levels from beginners upwards.

Gymnastics & Acrobatics Program: Our Gymnastics & Acro programs are catered for students across a range of levels. We separate classes by level from this age group. Students will learn;

• Tumbling 

• Tricks 

• Drills/ Flexibility/ Strengthening

• Bar and Beam Work 

• Trampoline Work 

• Balance/ Co-ordination

• Routines

Modern Jazz & Tap: Our students learn Modern Jazz, Lyrical, Tap and Contemporary dance through dance technique, terminology, routines and sequences. Our classes follow several highly acclaimed syllabus such as IDTA and IDT. Students are prepared for shows, events and have options to take examinations. (See Exam section)

Cheerleading & Pom Squad: NEW 

We have an exciting new program of Cheerleading at DAPA. Led by Miss Katy, Students are taught a variety of key elements in this area which is recognised worldwide as an incredible sport;

We have two squads starting in September; 

Beginners Pom Squad & 

DAPA Cheer Elite Squad

Squads are suitable for children aged from 5 upwards to teens level. Each squad is by Age and Level. 

​

Enter into Competitions with us across Ireland and the UK. 

Cheer Squads available in Thurles and Cashel. Students train for 1.5 hours a week.

Speech and Drama & Musical Theatre: Students are put through an exciting program of acting and performing by our head coach, Miss Sonya Cuddy ( LLSMD CDE). 

​

Students work towards performances, film projects, examinations and our focus is on building your child confidence through performance. We are incredibly excited to have Leinsters finest Drama Teacher with us and class places will be kept small. 

​

Teacher/Student ratio is small to give full attention and guidance to every member of DAPA.
